Privacy Policy

Last updated: 29 July 2026

1. About this policy

This policy explains how ClassHands handles personal information collected through this website and describes the privacy principles intended for the ClassHands learning platform. Product-specific notices may be added before live learner accounts are opened.

2. Information we may collect

Website information may include contact details, organisation details, enquiry content and technical information needed to operate and secure the site. A live learning service may also need child profile details, year group, selected subjects, lesson activity, answers, progress evidence and account permissions.

3. Why information is used

Information may be used to respond to enquiries, manage early access or pilot discussions, operate and secure the service, personalise learning, produce progress reports, support users, meet safeguarding duties and improve product quality.

4. Children and consent

ClassHands is designed around child safety. Appropriate parent, carer, school or organisation permissions must be established before child accounts are used. The exact consent and lawful-basis arrangements will depend on the route through which the service is provided.

5. Data minimisation

ClassHands intends to collect only information that is reasonably needed for learning, account operation, safeguarding, security and legal obligations. Information should not be collected merely because it may be useful later.

6. Sharing information

Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, security, communications or platform operation, and with schools or tuition centres where they administer the relevant account. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to protect a child or another person.

7. International transfers

Where a service provider processes information outside the United Kingdom, ClassHands should use an appropriate transfer mechanism and assess the safeguards available for that processing.

8. Retention

Information should be kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including legal, safeguarding, security and dispute-resolution needs. Detailed retention periods will be set before production learner data is processed.

9. Security

ClassHands intends to use proportionate technical and organisational measures, including access controls, secure hosting, role-based permissions, monitoring and incident procedures. No online service can promise absolute security.

10. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may provide rights including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and data portability. Requests can be submitted through the Contact page.

11. Automated personalisation

ClassHands uses learning evidence to decide which content should be shown next. The intended purpose is educational personalisation, not a decision that produces legal or similarly significant effects. Human oversight and challenge routes should remain available.

12. Cookies and analytics

The production site may use essential cookies and carefully selected analytics. A cookie notice and consent controls should be added before any non-essential tracking is enabled.

13. Changes

This policy may be updated as the platform, legal entity details, service providers and live product features are confirmed. Material changes should be explained clearly.

14. Contact

Privacy enquiries and rights requests can be submitted through the ClassHands Contact page. Formal legal entity, registered address and data protection contact details must be added before public launch.

Launch note: this is a strong working website policy, but final company details, processors, retention periods, lawful bases and child-account flows require review against the live service before launch.
